As the LiveLikeMax Foundation, our number one goal is spreading awareness to all student athletes and their families (this can be hereditary) about “athlete’s heart” and the importance of getting checked yearly to avoid this senseless death.
Our second reason for starting this foundation is to partner with Beaumont Hospital in providing funds to maintain their free Student Healthy Heart Check Program. This program is 100% funded by private donations.

Greetings,
From the Dr. Ramesh Kumar Foundation, we would like to thank you for your dedication and support in making the first ever Saginaw Student Heart Check an overwhelming success! We had over 75 volunteers and 5 physicians dedicate their time to make this event special.
With your help, we were able to successfully screen over 125 students for life threatening cardiac diseases. Five students required complete cessation of all athletic events due to high risk features found during screening and 20 others have been told to continue participating but advised to have close follow up with a physician. Hence, 20% of the population that were seen by our physicians were found to have something in their heart screen that would not have been found in a routine physical that is required before athletic competition.
We want to personally thank everyone who came out today, specifically Dr. Christopher Bradley, Dr. Wynne Lou, Dr. Kochunni Mohan, and Dr. Vivek Sengupta for providing their valuable time and skills to help our community! We would also like to thank The Half Hearted Team, all the volunteer nurses and students from Saginaw Valley State University, and Central Michigan University for their efforts in making this event successful!
Finally, we would like to thank our partners from Beaumont Health and the Live Like Max Foundation. Without the enthusiasm and organizational skills by Jennifer Shea from Beaumont, this event would not have occurred. They continue to forge the path and lead the movement to provide vital care to communities like ours.
Max Pardington's story should resonate with us all. The Live Like Max Foundation has shown that with the use of medical technology, dedication, and free screening programs, we have the ability to prevent life threatening cardiac diseases in otherwise healthy student athletes. The work we accomplished this weekend was truly life changing.
As Dr. Ramesh Kumar would say, "Those that live for others, live forever."

and Dearborn.
Beaumont is doing a free healthy heart check on August 6 th at Canton High School. Sign up will begin in June on the Beaumont Health student heart check website. We recommend all high school students between the ages of 13-18 get this life saving, painless heart check. It could save your child’s life.
